Oh, hi, everyone. This Tommy Wiseau here for UTRGV -TV. Hope you ready for real American sports. We start with some football ha ha ha. UTRGV vs California Baptist.
Both teams enter this one trying to stay near the top of the leaderboard in the Western Athletic Conference. Each team’s defense shut out the other’s offense all day long and much like last week we’re going to see a scoreless draw, oh wait! Angel Lopez scores from way out! All Lopez sees is dollar signs. Everything goes wrong at once for CBU. The results definitely have UTRGV winning this one 1-0.
Building off that intensity, UTRGV faced CSU Bakersfield. Another defensive struggle ensued before the Roadrunners’ Mikey Vogal finds the net. A man like that, with that leg. My god! The Vaqueros would fall in this one 1-0.
What a story that one was. Well, the women were trying to protect their place in the WAC standings. It seems like they are the experts. But, we’ll say what Utah Valley had to say about that one.
No defensive struggles here as in the first 5 minutes Utah Valley scores. Just wait 5 minutes and one of these teams will score eventually. Breanna Dewall notches two goals for the Wolverines as the go up 3-0.
Oh, hi, Katherine. Stokely that is. She gets the Vaqueros on the scoreboard. But it was too little too late as Utah Valley wins this one 3-1.
Last week I say how Volleyball playing average this year. But I am the fool. They came in this week and proved why they are a top team in the WAC.
UTRGV took on Seattle U and right away made a statement. The Brazillian Barbara Silva, a legend at this school gets UTRGV a huge win in Set One. They’d continue that performance the rest of the way winning in a three set sweep. The kills, the aces, the sweep, I mean what’s going on here? In the end, they Make the Redbirds look like chicken, cheep cheep cheep. A 3-0 win for UTRGV.
The weekend wasn’t over there. The Vaqueros took on California Baptist. And got things going in the right direction. That’s the idea. But, CBU came back in Set Two with Sydney Marks making her mark for the team. But don’t worry about that. UTRGV would strike back in the next two sets. That last kill matters a great deal. UTRGV beat the Lancers so bad they’ll send them to a hospital on Guerrero Street.
First time this year Vaqueros have won two conference games in a row.
