EDINBURG – The UTRGV DREAM Center hosts a networking social inviting the UTRGV student body and staff to learn all about the center.
The center serves to provide a supportive, inclusive environment for undocumented and DACA students and to supply the rest of the campus community with information on how to do so.
In addition to the resources available at the center, faculty from UTRGV’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion offers a three-week training at both campuses instructing anyone interested in how to become a DREAM Zone Advocate.
Dream Resource Center Program Coordinator Jose Aaron Hinojosa, shares some of the information offered during the sessions.
“We show a video documentary during the DREAM Zone advocate training, just to help people understand from different individuals what it is to be undocumented or to have DACA and what they go through and what are some of the challenges. But also to shine some light on the positive work that they’re doing, the goals that they have, who they are,” said Hinojosa.
The training schedule can be accessed through V link.
