Edinburg- A brief update on the mumps outbreak; there are now four confirmed cases on the Edinburg campus out of the 25 reported in Hidalgo County according to the Executive Vice President of Health Affairs.
UTRGV reported early in the month of April on a student seeking medical attention at the university’s clinic experiencing symptoms of the infection, followed by a second student.
According to the Hidalgo County Clinic, another student and a library staff member are now infected with the mumps, totaling three students and one staff member.
The UTRGV Health Services Clinic is offering free MMR vaccines until the end of the semester.
