Stephen Gutierrez EDINBURG – UTRGV Football returns for its second season and brings a new way to follow the Vaqueros live on-air.
Every game this season will be broadcast in English on Ultra 90.1 FM in the Rio Grande Valley and Pure Country 95.7 FM in Laredo.
Joe Bowling, play-by-play commentator, and Jonathan Medina, color commentator, are returning as the English radio announcers.
Whether fans are at work, on the road or unable to make it to the stadium, tuning into the radio gives them a way to stay connected to the game.
“There’s a lot of people that can’t stop and watch a game, but they can certainly put a headset on,” Bowling said. “It’s important to me that fans that are listening on the radio are listening to the point that all they have to do is close their eyes, and it’s my job to make them see exactly what’s going on out there with as much detail as possible and excitement.”
Bowling said that’s the goal every time he takes the microphone and will continue to be this season.
All home games will also be broadcast in Spanish throughout the RGV and northern Mexico on KYWW 1530 AM Puro Tejano and KGBT FM 98.5 La Preferida.
