Mercedes- On this edition of Music Craft, the band Pacific Notion brings a West Coast style to the Valley music scene. Our reporter, Nathaniel Puente, brings us more.
If you ever thought the RGV needed a West Coast feel, today is your lucky day. Pacific Notion cultivates sounds of California bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Weezer to form a unique band with a fun sound.
The band formed in Mercedes as “The All Naturals” when the members were still in high school. They went on a hiatus but returned in 2015 with their new name, “Pacific Notion.”
The remaining original members of Pacific Notion are Chris Cuellar (vocals/guitar), Stephanie Cisneros (guitar), and Jorge Pena (drums).
“I was on Craigslist looking for a bass player and I found an ad that said ‘I’ll play anything but metal,” Chris said. “And that’s how we found Ben.”
Pacific Notion set their sights on recording music. They released their debut EP, “All Natural,” in June 2017. Their debut album is set to be released in December 2018.
You can find Pacific Notion on Facebook, Twitter, and every major streaming service.
