UTRGV – UTRGV Biology Freshmen, Gregg Galvez, is currently undergoing cancer remission.
It all started when Galvez noticed he had an unusual bump on his body during his sophomore year of high school but decided not to tell anyone.
“I either tell my parents and I risk my high school education or I can just keep it quiet for the next three years. That’s what I decided to do,” said Galvez.
Later during his senior year, Galvez decided to break the silence and tell his mother. After meeting with a doctor, he learned the strange bump was indeed cancer.
“I was in very big shock because I thought I was at stage three or four, turns out I was on stage two. My doctor said if I wouldn’t have come sooner it would have been a stage 3 or worse.”
