A student on the Edinburg campus was trapped inside the UTRGV library elevator last Tuesday.
The library elevators, which were constructed in 1978, have been known to break down several times a semester. However, UTRGV Facilities Planning and Operations urges students to be patient.
“It’s a high traffic area,” says Assistant Director for Facilities Operation Support Martin Ramirez. “Of course, it’s going to have failures but we are trying to minimize it as much as we can.”
We will have an updated investigation on the elevator issue next week.
